Lindy has been patiently waiting for her new FUR-EVER home for several months. She is doing well with her foster family, and is compatible with the host's female pit bull terrier, and their cat. She has been around young children and is comfortable. She is playful and very eager to learn tricks and commands. She walks well on a leash, but shouldn't be let to run in an un-enclosed area because her beagle instincts take over and her nose dominates her brain.
Lindy is needs a slow introduction to new dogs. Some dogs she adores, and others she feels threatened by and can be jealous of. She'd do best as an only dog, or with a dominant male dog with lots of confidence.
Lindy wants to play with the cat.... not eat it. However, it takes a confident and dog-wise cat to know how to act around her. She would most likely chase a cat who flees.
Lindy loves her human care-givers, and enjoys snuggling and laying at their feet. She can be protective of them, but responds well, when told everything is okay, and there is no threat. A confident leader is all she needs. She isn't hyper or constantly on the look for activity, but enjoys a nice daily walk and a good conversation.
She's just an overall, nice, little brown dog. She will make a dedicated companion to anyone who will understand her needs and give her a chance.
