Asha, formerly known as Sasha, was transferred to her ARF Foster home from the Tri-County Shelter when she was about 6 weeks pregnant.  Her pups were born on 1/31 - 2/1/2-21.

Asha is a nice dog.  She is housebroken and enjoys being in the same room with you.  She's happy to lay at your feet, and walks nicely on a halt-lead.  She is smart - so smart, she can open cans of dog food... or get into the garbage.  So, she needs a care-giver who will put her brain to more positive uses.  

She is good around cats, and just ignores them. She is in a foster home with two other dogs, and is fine, however, she is not trustworthy around ALL dogs.  A slow, neutral, introduction will be needed.  She is wary of strangers at first, but within 10 minutes and lots of treats, she becomes quite friendly.

Asha has most likely spent all of her life being a momma.  She isn't sure how to play, but certainly knows how to love.

A DNA Test was done on Asha's pup, Lila.  The results show American Pit Bull Terrier, Labrador, American Eskimo and Poodle, among a few other breeds.  According to Embark, Poodles will also pass on the wire-hare gene.
